MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - March 31, 2010 - Brush Wellman Inc. and Nu-Cast Inc. announced today that they have signed a Development Agreement that, contingent on successful completion of funding and due diligence, and research and development phases, will lead to the establishment of a joint venture to manufacture investment castings of aluminum beryllium. Terms were not disclosed.

Brush Wellman holds two patents for investment castings of aluminum beryllium containing
40-70% beryllium. Aluminum beryllium investment castings will provide favorable cost/benefit advantages for high performance defense, aerospace and precision industrial equipment applications requiring a combination of ultra light weight, stiffness, mechanical stability and favorable thermal properties.
