Materion Brush Performance Alloys' Toughmet® 3 at Rings Extend Dimension Capability of this Fast Growing Oil & Gas Alloy Family

Mayfield Heights, OH - May 27, 2011 - Materion Brush Performance Alloys' ToughMet® 3 AT rings are designed for use in equipment requiring plain bearings, locking rings, and seal rings with high strength, low friction, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and good thermal conductivity. According to William Nielsen, Director of Marketing at Materion Brush Performance Alloys, "Bearings made from ToughMet 3 AT rings have proved their value in extending maintenance intervals and preventing unplanned shutdowns in very large underground and surface mining machining including oil sands resources."

ToughMet 3 AT (UNS 72900) ,a spinodal copper nickel tin alloy strengthened by heat treatment has excellent dimensional stability. This alloy is available in rings with outside diameters up to 80 inches and a maximum ring weight of 10,000 lbs.
