MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - June 1, 2011 - Materion Corporation announced today that Deb Armstrong has joined the Company as Chief Human Resources Officer.
As Materion's senior human resources executive, Ms. Armstrong reports to Richard J. Hipple, Chairman, President and CEO. She is based at the Materion Corporation headquarters in Mayfield Heights.
In her role, Ms. Armstrong leads the human resources organization which drives the Company's global human capital strategy, leadership development initiatives, and compensation and benefits.
In announcing the appointment, Mr. Hipple commented, "Deb's background and expertise with large global organizations makes her extremely well qualified to fill this critical position. Ms. Armstrong joined Materion from the Architecture & Software segment of Rockwell Automation where she served as Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Rockwell in 2004, she worked in various human resource leadership positions for OMNOVA Solutions, Inc., Allied Signal and General Mills.
She earned both a master's degree in Higher Education & Administration and a bachelor's degree in Education from Michigan State University.
