Materion Corporation (NYSE:MTRN) announced today that its Board of
Directors has appointed Darlene J.S. Solomon, Ph.D. and Geoffrey Wild as
Directors. Dr. Solomon and Mr. Wild succeed Albert C. Bersticker and
William G. Pryor, who retired from the Company's Board upon the
completion of their terms in May 2011.
Dr. Solomon is Chief Technology Officer for Agilent Technologies, Inc.
(New York Stock Exchange/Symbol: A). Based in Santa Clara, California,
Agilent Technologies is the world's premier measurement company and a
technology leader in chemical analysis, life sciences, electronics and
communications.
Mr. Wild is Chief Executive Officer and a director of
Luxembourg-registered AZ Electronic Materials S.A., and is based in Hong
Kong. AZ Electronic Materials produces high-quality, high-purity
specialty chemicals and materials for use in integrated circuits and
devices, flat panel displays, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and
photolithographic printing. Its stock is traded on the London Stock
Exchange.

About Darlene J.S. Solomon, Ph.D.
As Chief Technology Officer for Agilent Technologies, Dr. Solomon's
responsibilities include developing Agilent's long-term technology
strategy and overseeing the alignment of its objectives with its
centralized research and development activities.
She joined Agilent when the company was formed in 1999 as a spin-off
from Hewlett-Packard Company with the dual role as Director of the Life
Sciences Technologies Laboratory within Agilient Laboratories, and as
Senior Director, Research and Development/Technology for Agilient's Life
Science and Chemical Analysis business. Earlier, she had served at
Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, including Research and Development Manager
for the Chemical and Biological Systems Department.
She received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Stanford
University, a Doctorate in bioinorganic chemistry from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, and has completed Stanford University's
Executive Development Program.
Dr. Solomon serves on multiple academic and government advisory and
review boards, including the Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology
for the National Institute of Standards and Technology, National
Academies' Board on Chemical Sciences and Technology, and external
advisory boards for the National Science Foundation's Nanobiotechnology
Center, A-Star Board for Singapore Economic Development and Stanford
University's Interdisciplinary Biosciences Advisory Council.

Geoffrey ("Geoff") Wild is Chief Executive Officer and a director of AZ
Electronic Materials S.A., a provider of high purity advanced technology
products for use in integrated circuits and devices, flat panel
displays, LEDs and photolithographic printing. He has been Chief
Executive Officer of the company since January 2010.
Previously, Mr. Wild was President and Chief Executive Officer of
Cascade Microtech, Inc. Based in Portland, Oregon, Cascade Microtech is
a worldwide leader in the design, development and manufacture of
advanced wafer probing solutions for the electrical measurement and test
of semiconductor integrated circuits and chips. His earlier experience

Inc., a provider of innovative, high productivity solutions for the
semiconductor industry, and as a Director of E Ink Corporation and Nikon
Precision Inc.
