Company will Showcase Powder Metallurgy Technology at Ribbon Cutting

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
As a launch partner of the American Lightweight Materials Manufacturing
Innovation Institute (ALMMII), Materion Corporation (NYSE:MTRN) will
join nearly 100 other manufacturing companies, universities, research
institutions and industry associations for the ribbon cutting and
opening ceremony of the ALMMII's new technology development center in
Detroit on January 15, 2015. The new ALMMII facility will serve as the
organization's regional hub, housing offices, meeting rooms, and
training and laboratory space.
ALMMII is part of President Obama's National Network of Manufacturing
Innovation, an initiative to accelerate the development and adoption of
cutting-edge manufacturing technologies for lightweight materials that
improve mission capability and energy utilization of land, sea and air
transportation. The institute's efforts encompass the entire
transportation supply chain, nurturing innovations from conception
through design, development, and production.
The ribbon cutting event will showcase the organization's vision for how
lightweight materials can reshape manufacturing in the United States and
how partner organizations are supporting that agenda.
