Advanced Materials Company Expands its BeO Ceramics Product Line
MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Materion Corporation (NYSE:MTRN) recently introduced Thermalox® V to
augment its product line of advanced beryllium oxide ceramic (BeO)
materials. Utilized in applications that require high thermal
conductivity while providing electrical insulation, the new product is
exclusive to Materion and offers an economical alternative to standard
BeO ceramics.
Thermalox V, which is rated at a minimum thermal conductivity of 220
W/m·K, was developed to meet the demands of customer applications that
call for significantly higher thermal conductivity than aluminum nitride
(typically 180 W/m·K), but do not require the premium performance of
Materion's Thermalox® 995 (285 W/m·K). BeO is widely used in power
electronics, diode and gas lasers, and the RF and microwave industries.
"Thermalox V allows us to deliver all the benefits of BeO to lower cost
devices," said W. Glenn Maxwell, President, Materion Performance Alloys
and Composites. "It gives budget-constrained customers a ceramic
material that bridges the performance gap between conventional aluminum
nitride and BeO, ultimately expanding their design options."
